One Week......

Livy throwing the ball with Kelly.
Katie and Abbi at the beach in Rockaway.

Ice Cream with Abbi and Zack at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

We are one week away from the dude joining our family. Thanks to everyone who listed various ideas for his name. During this process he was known as Connor for a few weeks.....Liam for about 10 days and 5-10 other names that we used for a few hours or so.
We are not really sure why, but the name that actually stuck is Jackson. We are very excited to have him here with us. He is currently doing his best to punch his way out of the belly.....with no success. He spends most of his time resting comfortably on Britt's bladder.
This past weekend we were able to spend one last getaway as a family of four.....thanks to an invite to Rockaway Beach by our good pals the Wilbur's. We had a great time hanging out at the beach and touring the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
Next Monday I'll get some pics on of the dude as soon as I have the chance. Thanks to everyone for your support.

The name predicament .....

The picture you see here may not seem significant to you.....but it is actually quite special. This is:
  • The only known picture of my pregnant wife
  • The only known picture of my son in his mother's belly

Britt is not a fan of pregnancy and more than most anything....she refuses to have her picture taken while "with child." It's a bummer for me. I'd always imagined having those fancy black and white glamour shots of my pregnant wife hanging around our house....OK, maybe not, but I'd still like some memories of everything she has been going through.

Anyway, not the point. The point is, we still don't have a name for the boy. That is where family and friends (hopefully) come in. I have gone through 3 baby name books, and so far we have nothing. I'm pushing the name Magnum really hard, but nobody else seems to like it. Right now the top consensus pick is probably Connor, but I'm not sold. It seems like every good name has already been used or is super common. So I'm asking for your help. Name our baby!! I'll even make this interesting for you.....If you suggest the name we use for our boy I will send you a prize worth up to, but not more than $5.00. It could be candy, a small pack of Lego's, a package of disposable razors.....let your imagination run wild. Just put your suggestions on the comment board and we'll see what happens.

Things you should know:

  • His middle name will be Jason
  • We will not accept suggestions that have anything to do with Lord of the Rings (Bilbo Kelly doesn't have a great ring to it)
  • I really like the name Taylor but I'm told that this is now a girls name.....so no girl names
  • I will be the ultimate "decider" on the name....but Brittanie has veto power...so really, she's the decider

I'm hoping we can have an official name by August 1st.....we'll see what happens. There is a solid chance the first few weeks of his life may be spent simply as "Boy."

Katie turns 6

Unreal how the time goes so fast. Just yesterday you were just my baby....now you are such a big girl. We love how sweet and tender you are Katie. The day you were born was the most special of days.....We cried and cried as we held you for the first time. Now you are in Kindergarden.....becoming so independent and smart. You are so beautiful...you are Daddy's girl. We love you so much and hope you have a wonderful birthday.

The deer have moved in

We have had deer in and out of our backyard this fall. The past couple days they haven't left. There is one buck, a doe and two fawns. It is pretty wild. They hang out all over the hill and sometimes right on our backyard lawn. It is tough to get a picture of them because the flash really freaks them out, but hopefully you get the idea of where they are.

Busy..... beautiful fall

We are having one of those Autumn seasons that makes you remember why you put up with the rain all year long.....beautiful.....amazing!! So we have been as active as we can...trying to soak in all the fun before the rain comes.

Livy is a natural on the horse!!
Katie looks comfortable.....but she's faking it. Actually, she did OK.

The girls at the pumpkin patch....Livy is such a ham.

Katie and Livy both love dance...here is a shot of Katie in action.

Miss Olivia's first day of school. She loves it.

Good Times in Boston....

So we are in Boston right now....yesterday we spent a day in the city seeing a lot of great sites and history. Today we went out to see Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower and the Plymouth Plantation. So much history out here. Boston is an amazing city. More city tomorrow and our first game at Fenway Park. We miss our girls......but we are having a great time.

Here is Britt with Ben Franklin.
We didn't get to eat before we flew to Boston so we started off with some street dogs.
This is in Plymouth in front of the Mayflower.
Here we are at Paul Revere's house.
This is us and the Riggs at Plymouth Plantation.
